Disproportionate anger, aggression and rage

There are people who, despite being afraid of conflict and considering themselves not very violent, sometimes get much more angry than may seem reasonable, even to the point of losing control over their anger and doing things that they later regret.

There are also people who sometimes have flashes, images or fantasies of violent or sexual scenes that can arise suddenly, without warning, and the person does not understand where they are coming from.

All emotions have a natural way of expressing themselves and when this way is obstructed due to inhibition or external or internal prohibitions, the organism has to find new ways to express them.

The above symptoms are some ways that the organism has of expressing a forbidden emotion, in these cases the emotion is often anger or rage.

For years I have been using a specific therapy technique to work with the problem of inhibited anger and rage. Based on a combination of imagery, bodywork and EMDR, it has proven very effective in resolving the deep underlying conflicts responsible for the problem, and has allowed the client to rediscover the natural expression of their inhibited feelings.
